I always take between 2-4 weeks to finish an end page illustration, this all depends on my own schedule and the details of the commission.
Please keep in mind that I can’t always start your commission right away, this all depends on the waiting list (check the status at the top of this page). However it is possible to reserve a spot for the coming months!
Rush orders are available when my schedule allows it, please check with me first. A rush order fee will be calculated depending on the given deadline.
The artist will keep all the rights to the illustration created, unless a copyright transfer has taken place (fees will be calculated per project).
The artist can always share the artwork on her socials & website, unless discussed otherwise.
An exclusive commercial licence is included in the price. See more info about commercial licences below.
Accepted payments are through Paypal and IDEAL and will always be payed in Euro’s (€).
An upfront 50% payment is required after the concept sketches have been delivered. The artist will not continue the commission until the payment has been received. The other 50% will be payed after the illustration has been finalised.
In case of cancellation of a project:
Refunds will be calculated according the amount of work and time the artist has spend on the illustration.
What information do you need to get started?
I mostly need the general idea (and if you don’t have an idea yet, I would be happy to brainstorm with you!) and descriptions of everything that is important (characters, environment, maybe important objects, etc.). I also need the dimensions of your book and preferably the KDP book cover template download.
How many concepts/drafts will I receive?
It really depends on how broad the spectrum of your idea is. I always make at least 4 concept sketches and won’t mind making a few more when requested. And when multiple concepts need to be explored, I will mostly include a few more.
Do you offer payment plans?
We can always discuss a payment plan that works for you!
What file formats will I get?
PNG, JPEG & PDF (both in spread and front cover only)
Do you handle the printing process or recommend printers?
No, sorry. I am from the Netherlands and have only so many resources and since most of my commissions come from other countries, I sadly cannot handle or recommend printers.
* With every commission a signed agreement/ contract is required. The agreement has more follow-up and in depth terms & conditions, so make sure to read/ ask everything before signing, so misunderstandings can be avoided and both the artist and the client are protected.
For personal use only.
This is for when you want to commission me for yourself or as a gift to a friend. As long as it’s not intended for sale and marketing purposes, it’s fine. I don’t mind if you share it once on socials just to show others, or if you use it as your wallpaper or profile picture.
A marketing licence.
This non-exclusive licence can be used for marketing on social media, websites or other platforms for promoting your product. As long as an income isn’t generated directly from the artwork (like prints, book covers, etc.)
Price: 25% of commission price
A non-exclusive licence gives you the right to use the artwork for the intended and discussed purposes. Non-exclusive means I, as the artist, can also use the rights for selling and making products for my own purposes with this artwork. This is generally the licence used for commissioned art pieces used as prints, overlays and marketing.
Price: 50% of commission price
An exclusive licence only gives the commissioner the right to use the artwork for the intended and discussed purposes. I, the artist, may not sell it as I wish, but only has the right to use the art as an portfolio piece and post on social media (unless discussed otherwise). Keep in mind: the copyright still belongs to the artist.
A book cover & end page commission always have the exclusive rights licence included in the price.
Price: 100% of commission price
